MockHero generates realistic, schema-aware synthetic test data via API. Define any database schema — tables, columns, relationships — and get back fake but realistic rows.
## What you can generate
Names, emails, addresses, phone numbers, products, transactions, invoices, blog posts, and 50+ field types.
## Key features
- **Schema-aware**: define tables with foreign key relationships
- **50+ built-in field types**: uuid, email, phone, address, price, avatar_url, and more
- **AI prompt-to-schema**: describe what you need in plain English
- **Pre-built templates**: e-commerce, CRM, blog, SaaS, and more
- **Multiple output formats**: JSON, SQL INSERT, CSV
- **Deterministic seeds**: reproducible data for CI/CD
- **MCP server**: works with Cursor, Claude Code, Windsurf
## Use cases
- Seed dev/staging databases
- Populate CI/CD test fixtures
- Load test with realistic data

The Generate Test Data endpoint returns synthetic data based on the defined schema. This includes realistic entries such as names, emails, addresses, and other specified fields, structured according to the relationships and constraints you set in your schema definition.
The response data is organized in a JSON format, with the main data encapsulated in a "data" object. Each field type defined in the schema will appear as a key, with corresponding values representing the generated synthetic data.
Users can customize their data requests by specifying parameters such as the schema definition, the number of rows to generate, and any relationships between tables. This allows for tailored data generation that meets specific testing needs.
The List Field Types endpoint provides a comprehensive list of over 50 built-in field types available for data generation, including UUIDs, emails, phone numbers, addresses, and more, enabling users to select appropriate types for their schemas.
In the Generate Test Data response, fields like "id" represent unique identifiers for each entry, "name" contains the generated name, "email" holds the synthetic email address, and "created_at" indicates the timestamp of data creation, providing context for each entry.
Users can utilize the returned data by integrating it into their development or testing environments, populating databases for QA testing, or simulating user interactions in demo environments, ensuring realistic scenarios for application performance.
Data accuracy is maintained through schema-aware generation, ensuring that the synthetic data adheres to the defined relationships and constraints. This allows for realistic and contextually relevant data that mirrors real-world scenarios.
Typical use cases include seeding development and staging databases, populating CI/CD test fixtures, conducting load tests with realistic data, and creating demo environments for showcasing applications, all of which enhance the testing process.
To obtain your API key, first sign in to your account and navigate to the API you want to use. From the API's Pricing section, choose a plan and complete the subscription process. Once subscribed, return to the API page and you will see your API Access Key displayed at the top of the documentation page. You can use this key to authenticate your requests.
